Welcome to Uddeshya Bharti

It was in 1999 and that a group of professionals concerned with certain socio-economic issues of the state of Bihar decided to form a society and work for the amelioration of the prevailing conditions. Allowing themselves some time for a deeper deliberation on their concerns, they eventually went ahead with registering themselves as an NGO under the ‘Society Registration Act, 1860 in 2001 and with the name "UDDESHYA BHARATI". With a development perspective embedded in concerns of equity and sustainability, the organization has since then been working with the weaker sections of the society for their overall upliftment and integration into the societal mainstream. The organisation meets all standards of statutory compliances as applicable under the Society Registration Act, 1860 and by virtue of its FCRA registration is even entitled to access foreign funds. It has its registered office at Villa- Parasian, P.O.-Kulharia Dist- Buxar (Bihar) and its administrative office at – Main Road, Buddha Colony, and Patna-800001.

Our Objective

Objective

  • To enable the emergence of the target population as self-defining groups with a strong sense of self-identity rooted in a critical awareness of the attitudinal, behavioural and structural constraints to their development and geared towards constructive and meaningful change on their part
  • To address issues specific to socially excluded like women , widows, children , the aged, the disabled and the Dalits
  • To promote organizational and institutional development of the target group
  • To build and develop appropriate capacities at the community level
  • To promote sustainable development of the target group in a manner that is economically feasible , socially acceptable and ecologically viable
  • To enhance access of the target group to social services like health , education etc
  • To enable access of the target group to the development and welfare entitlements from the government
  • To enable access of the target group to all relevant resources from government , business and civil society.
  • To promote inclusive and accountable local governance
  • To promote disaster resilience in the intervention area.
  • Networking with likeminded individuals , groups and organizations on issues of relevance to the development of the target group
  • To utilize project based interventions as an opportunity for critically engaging with the policy environment.
